THE OWNER
ToolBox Widget Inc was founded, invented, and is owned by a United States Marine combat veteran (2001-2006) that served in Iraq as a
Counter Mortar-man. After the Marines he used his G.I. Bill to become a FAA certified aircraft mechanic (A&P), with avionics ad-on and 2,000+ hr FAA certified commercial helicopter pilot including instrument and CFI (Flight Instructor) plus CFII (Flight Instructor with Instrument) and did that for 12 years.
Being an aircraft mechanic for helicopters, jets and also a DIY car mechanic he understood the requirements and what it really takes to stay organized, efficient and how an organized toolbox and skillset is at the heart of those concepts.

The Beginning

It all started with a simple idea and a need to properly organize a toolbox correctly, but also the need to be easy, changeable, and faster way to account for tools. Unfortunately, the industry to not have anything that suited these needs. Then comes the 3D printer and a drive to make something work better.

After teaching himself how to design and 3D print, he actually started having some real success on a workable, easy concept. This new design was able to easily and quickly organize a toolbox. Once those first usable 3D printed widgets were working and, in the toolbox, doing their job correctly everyone who seen them loved them and they loved the magnets, orange missing tool indicator stripes and the modular concept.

9 out of 10 people who seen the first widgets in use inside his toolbox would usually respond with "Can I buy some" or "Can I have some"? At that point and with enough people loving the idea and wanting to buy them it was time to try and learn what I could do about patents and forming a company. I knew zero about any of it, lol.

Today

Though we are still the newest tool organizing company on the block we are changing the way mechanics organize their toolbox. Toolbox Widget is making tons of growth as a company with new innovative products and listening to our customer mechanics. We are extremely happy with our growth for the last three years and what we have accomplished as a company.

We now have our own warehouse and an amazing team consisting of some family, some veterans and some veteran spouses and being self-funded and with no investors that is a huge accomplishment. We are grateful for the entire TBW team, and they are all equally amazing. They are the best and I would happily go back to working out of the garage with them any day, if needed.

Customers

The absolute most important part of this business and where we put 100% of our focus is in our customers. We would not be anything, but an idea if it was not for them. We as a business honestly know that and truly take it to heart. We do appreciate every one of you. We hope to show that commitment to our customer support and products by putting our customers and mechanics first.
